MEMORIAL DAY

For Memorial Day we went to Floral Haven, avenue of flags, to help fold up and store all of the flags that were displayed in honor of Memorial Day.

There was a nice ceremony, and they awarded the first flag lowered to a special person (oops, can't remember who though).

The Scouts lined up and were ready to start lowering the flags.

They had to march/walk all the way to the far end of the cemetary to start.

There were a lot of flags!!! All over the cemetary

But, there were a lot of Scouts and helpers too.

Ryan and Mike were with Jeff, the Pack leader, the whole time

I was proud of Ryan, he really did a good job!

Mike did a good job too. He helped/worked as much as Ryan did. I love that he is sooo involved with Scouts (I think he really enjoys it too)I thought it would take a long time, but we managed to get done, and back home for a BBQ of our own. We celebrated with filet (it was on sale thankfully, because I really wanted steak) and corn on the cob. It was a memorable Memorial Day!

BEST OF BOOST

It was the Best of Boost 2008 - The kids loved it as some of our favorite skits from the past year were brought back for a grand finale!

Matt was a pretty tough Cupid from da Bronx!
Andrew was Baby Moses being interviewed by Barbara Wa Wa =)
And Bryce and Allen danced the "Pitty Party" dance like crazy!
It was a great year! The kids loved it and are already talking about next year!

RYAN AND AMBER's WATER HOTEL

Amber and Ryan built a fort in Amber's room and asked if they could pppplllleeeaassseee sleep in it for the night. We figured why not. It didn't look that comfortable, and Ryan ended up in his own bed for awhile in the middle of the night, but he made his way back to the hotel before morning.

Ryan insisted I take a picture of his Web Kinz sleeping in his cave portion of the hotel.
What great imaginations!

Picking Up Poop!

My man is not too thrilled with this post, but I had a bad headache so Mike and the kids picked up dog poop so Mike could mow. (This is always my job) I had to get a picture (since I may never see this again - hee hee). The kids actually liked it =) I could hear Ryan singing "I'm a pioneer picking up my own poop . . . and it looks like chocolate". Even with a bad headache that had me laughing and I had to get a picture once I heard that (hee hee).
Even when seriously at work picking up poop, both the boy and man don't miss a single airplane flying by overhead.
The kids took the job seriously too, check out the boots (hee hee). When they went out to help the both grabbed boots. Amber screamed because she thought there was poop in her boot (it had been left outside by the door) but she quickly found out it was a frog. Luckily they removed the frog before the dogs got to it. (I hate it when the go after the frogs and come in foaming at the mouth - yuck)

Amber win's AGAIN

And the winner is . . . . . Amber Clement YEAAA!!! They had a Spring Fling at the school this past Friday. They have several games and raffles for baskets to earn money. We only bought 13 tickets and we only put one in the drawing for this basket (Ryan put several in the drawing for the Webkinz basket), but Amber won! Each basket has a theme and this basket was "This and That", so actually there was something for everyone in it. The family got a $75 photo shoot (from a professional photographer), we got a few games and cards, two umbrellas, some leggo's for Ryan, a Webkinz frog for Amber, a camo duffle bag for Daddy, and several other cool things. We were all very surprised and happy to win! Dad kept wishing he had won the "Dad's" basket because it had cool "Dad" things. Ryan really wanted the Webkinz (but both Mike and I are glad we didn't get that one - hee hee). It was a lot of fun!

Summer is Here !

Well, just seven more days of school, but the summer weather is definitely here. We are scheduled for our yearly AC maintenance next Tuesday. Of course the warm weather hit so we turned on the AC and . . . . . it's not working. It is 88 degrees upstairs right now (poor kids). It will cool down tonight, but both nights it has been really hot at bedtime.

When I went upstairs this weekend (before it got too hot) I found Ryan and Amber both in their rooms, but in the exact same position. They both have their beds in front of their windows and they love it. I think Ryan has the better view, but Amber likes to watch the neighbors (hee hee).
They both also have several books on their window cil's.

Amber's Book Report Win's 1st Place

Amber won 1st place for 1st Graders for this book report display board. I helped, but she had to do everything (Ryan helped too). It was fun for us to put together and decorate. Her book was on fairies and we took a picture of her dressed like a fiary and copied it on 8 1/2 x 11 for the center. We also hot glued a ton of shells to the bottom. We even put pearls in several.

Ryan Graduates from a Bear to a Webelos

Tonight was Ryan's last Pack meeting for the year and they had a ceremony celebrating as he turned from a Bear to a Webelo =) Dad is back at work tonight (1st night back after being really, really, really, really, sick). He had to miss this, but we posted pictures so he could see it right away! And Ryan called him and talked to him right after and told him all about it.
The parents stood up with their Scout and took off their Bear neckerchief and they were given a Webelos neckerchief.
They had to ride the rope to jump across (sorry, don't remember all of what this meant)
Ryan really liked riding the rope though!
Then the walked across the bridge and shook the hand of the Big Chief (okay that's just my interpretation, but this is the Pack leader and he will be going on to lead the Webelos which is great! He is an awesome leader and a lot of fun (just a big kid really).
Big Chief! Little Webelo Scout! (add your own indian accent here)

Incredible Pizza

We celebrated Ryan's birthday with famiy on his birthday. But that weekend we celebrated with his friends/neighbors. We headed to Incredible Pizza and had a PARTY!
Dad brought the balloons!
Ryan had fun celebrating with his friends!
Amber was just glad that Madison got to come with her brother, they are best friends/neighbors too and Amber wanted a girl to hang with (Madison is her bestest friend too).
I was lucky enough to have my bestest friend as well =)

Ryan got more Web Kinz and web kinz stuff (He loves it!)
He also got a water gun which Mike says would be a perfect cat/dog gun (NOT)
This is the last picture we have with Mike having fun . . . . shortly after we left as he wasn't feeling well and he went down with the flu and was very, very sick for the next two days (sicker than I have ever seen him . . . it was sad)
Amber had fun playing games with Madison and her mom.
