Amber Sang a Duet with Hannah

Most amazing thing, she is really not shy. I don't know how she does it, I know she gets a little nervous, but not much, and she had no problem getting up there and singing. Wow! Her confidence blows me away! I am very, very proud of her!

Amber's Butterfly Cakes

Amber told me I had to take her to the store so she could get some cake mix and frosting so she could make a butterfly cake. Mike told me I had to take Amber to the store and buy her some cake mix and frosting so she could make a butterfly cake because he likes cake. So, I took Amber to the store. Neither Mike or I helped her at all, I was a little worried as she had just seen this on the computer and really had no help . . . but as you can see she really didn't need any help.
She used food coloring to make different color frosting, and she found chocolate chips etc. to decorate with.

Saudi Students

We had hoped to be a host home for some Saudi Arabian students this summer. We said that we could host a girl and a chaperone (they wouldn't send a girl without a brother or male relative), but that we would need help with transportation since we work. They did not have any girls so we did not get to host a student. But, we did end up helping provide transportation (God has such a sense of humor). On Monday's and Thursday's we would give them a ride to English Club (often in Tulsa). Ryan had a great time doing this and really liked hanging out with the Saudi's.
Before they left we got to go to a "good bye" party for them in a friends incredible home! Ryan and I both had a blast!
We played games . . . blindfold the Saudi (okay, they turned it around and we Americans had to get blindfolded too)

Ryan got to go swimming
And play in the game room
We didn't get to watch a movie while we were there because we were too busy, but I would have like to!
And we got a picture of Ryan with one of his favorite actors . . . action figures . . . whatever
As overwhelmed as we were by this home, we were equally overwhelmed by the Saudi students. We really had fun hanging out with them while they were here and getting to know them and learning a few Arabic words while teaching them some English

Band Camp 2012

Ryan and his friend Joshua
Ryan and his roommate Ethan in their dorm room
We all had a lot of fun! Ryan made it in band #6 and was 3rd Chair (out of 10 bands, he moved up from band 8 last year). We all went out to eat for lunch and finally went home after watching 7 of the bands perform. The kids were beat . . . can you tell?
