Camping with Friends on Memorial Day Weekend

We spent a lot of time eating this Memorial Day weekend campout.  Each family was responsible for dinner for everyone on one night. This was our night and we fixed hambergers, corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad, and all the fixings=) Everyone helped out and it was a great meal =) All the meals were great!
We spent some time just sitting around the fire pit . . . usually no fire . . . it was mid 80's, no need for a fire it was more than hot enough already.
We played ladder ball, sometimes kids and adults, sometimes just kids.
We ate watermelon
And spit out the seeds (that's what Mike is doing - hee hee)
The kids had fun riding bikes and playing (I have no idea what they are doing here.
Sometimes they still played their games (but not often)
The women spent some time reading (yes - me too but I'm not in any of the pictures - go figure =)
boys had fun being boys and climbing around on the rocks by the lake
Mainly we just hung out together
Sometimes we hung out for no reason at all whatsoever
Or maybe there was a reason
Although it was pretty hot, we had a breeze most of the time, and the company was great =) Definitely a good and memorable weekend. Hope your's was too =)

Last Day of School

We celebrated the last day of school by going out for some snow cones
Then we went out to eat at our new favorite restaurant, a Japanese place that just opened up in town. Don't they both look excited =)
Although sashimi is Ryan's favorite we tried to keep it simple this time. Amber loves the soup.
I really like the salad and did the same with my salad dressing (seriously). But Ryan did get some quail eggs.
It was fun =) Now I'm heading to bed and they just popped some popcorn and made Rootbeer floats to enjoy while they watch the Movie "How to Train Your Dragon". Yes, summer is more fun for some of us than it is for others (hee hee). It was definitely a good end to the year though. We also celebrated with gifts. Yesterday was my friend Sultana's birthday. I got her a pair of heart earrings (which match a pair I got for myself). Anyway, today she called to make sure I was going to stop by and visit her at work and I should have known something was up. She bought me a necklace which is just like the one she has which I had complimented, and Amber a pair of gold hear earrings which match the earrings she bought her daughter and Ryan a fun toy gun. We stopped by after our dinner so the kids (and I) could thank her. She is so sweet - a very good friend =) Here is a picture of the necklace, one shows what it looks like and one shows how much it shines =)

Talent Show

Amber played the piano at the end of the year talent show. There were not very many 5th graders in the talent show, so I was very proud of her =) Can't believe she will be going to the Sixth Grade Center next year, no more elementary school.

End of the School Year Party

Amber informed me that she was going to have a party, Saturday from 2:30pm - 6:00 pm and she would be inviting her neighbor friends and she gave me a list of what she would need: carrots, lemonade, ice cream, balloons, streamers, water balloons. It sounded like a good idea to me and she seemed to have everything under control so I got her what she needed and she got Mike to help her prepare the water balloons, set up the tables and decorate (I was busy shopping). She did a great job and I think they all had a fun time!
They all enjoyed the ice cream sandwiches
They painted their finger and toe nails
They played barbies. They also ran in the sprinkler and played with the water balloons =)
I think the party was a big hit. And she is all set for the summer, ready to play with her neighbor friends =)

Good Friends

This is my good friend Sultana =)
It is only fair that if I put her picture on here (she is not sooo thrilled) I have to include the one she took of me.

Owasso Youth Orchestra

Ryan joined the Owasso Youth Orchestra and he is one of two trombones. His friend is the other trombone and he had to miss this first performance. They played at NE Elementary School. They did great =)

Amber's Honor Choir Performance

The Honor Choir performed at a retirement home in Owasso and I went and took some pictures =)
She got a little sidetracked by her brother who was to her right

Ryan's a teenager - Big 13 - WOW!

Birthday morning, had to open a few gifts to start the day =)
Ryan's birthday watch - G-Shock, oh, yeah!
We took Ryan and six friends to Incredible Pizza for a real party this year =)
Spinning the birthday wheel - he won a $5 game card

Amber hung with Mike and I
The whole gang had fun . . . and they are all in the 7th grade together (except Amber) even the big guy
