Winter Camping

Mike and Ryan went camping with the Scouts. Since it is January it was winter camping, down to 21 degrees at night, but they did have some nice days, and some of the boys (including Ryan) slept in a cabin. Mike roughed it in his new tent (which is only a 3 season tent . . . winter not being one of those 3 seasons, but he said it was fine, cold but fine).
See you can see some snow on the ground in the far right corner
They ate all of their meals inside the cabin as well
Ryan enjoying some cobbler (a Scouting tradition)
Ryan didn't know that they were going to be sleeping in a cabin so he didn't bring a cot, he had a little pad, but he did okay.
The main project they worked on was learning how to build a monkey bridge with rope and logs
The pictures are kind of odd because they forgot to take a camera so all of the pictures were taken with Mike's phone (regular looking pictures) or Ryan's 3DS (he took a couple of normal pictures, but usually used a lot of the features to play with the color etc.)
They had a lot of fun and we bought Ryan 2 pair of long underwear (he wore them both, they actually worked well together), warm gloves, and he has his cousins warm Columbia jacket so he was prepared for the cold weather. And as you can see from the pictures, it wasn't that cold during the day.
